Project SDL InnerSpace

Project SDL InnerSpace

In the beginning, there was silence—an uncarved block of time, a stillness before the first brushstroke, before the first word dared to leap into the void. From this silence emerged SDL InnerSpace, not as a place, but as a living constellation: a realm where art, language, and vision converge into myth.

SDL InnerSpace is not bound by walls or borders. It is a threshold, a liminal chamber where the lion yawns and the ocean whispers, where the interpreter of tongues becomes the interpreter of dreams. It is the inner cosmos of Sam Diellor Luani, refracted through lens, canvas, and word.

InnerSpace is about to unveil itself.

The Architecture of Ghosts & The Defense of the Human Touch

SDL InnerSpace is my first commercial debut in digital art, but it is fundamentally a study in progress. It is a campaign to restore the essence of human creativity in an age rapidly being dominated by automation.

InnerSpace is an artistic gallery installation, an inter-mediatic pastiche, and a delicate, multifunctional study of creativity itself. It is an artificial construction, a figment of imagination. Yet, its existence is as solid as the crypto transactions of the physical economy. While the physical world relies on the interaction of mass and energy, SDL InnerSpace relies on values and intentions.

It exists in four dimensions of experience:

  • Visual: It demands to be seen.
  • Verbal: It demands to be narrated.
  • Vocal: It demands to be heard.
  • Conceptual: It demands to be thought.

To deny this world is to deny the reality of the concept itself.

Project Mission | Core Objectives

  • Freedom: To achieve a livelihood entirely based on creativity.
  • Recognition: To establish a brand as a Postmodernist author and artist.
  • Promotion: To create a symbiosis where my visual art promotes my writing (novels/poetry) and vice versa, pioneering a new ekphrastic genre for the Metaverse.
  • The Campaign: To answer the existential question: How do we avoid becoming redundant in the age of smart machines?

Human Authenticity vs. AI Hyper-Realism

I cannot compete with the machine on perfection. So, I will compete with the machine on Soul.

We stand at a crossroads. An AI can generate a hyper-realistic image of a beautiful woman in seconds—a task that would take a human artist a month to replicate using traditional digital tools.

Project InnerSpace is my refusal to give up. Instead of chasing Hyper-Realism (which AI has conquered), I am pivoting to Hyper-Non-Realism.

The Strategy of Imperfection
  • The Human Touch: I incorporate “manual craftmanship imperfections”—scars, rough cuts, and raw doodles.
  • Errorism: A parodic concept where I intentionally embrace or exaggerate small errors to signal human authorship.
  • Authenticity: I utilize my own vision impairment, deteriorating hand motor skills and my difficulties, not as liabilities, but as generators of unique, unrepeatable artistic “noise” that a clean algorithm would never produce.

Methodology | Common Composition Template

Unlike mass-produced NFT collections generated by code, every item in InnerSpace is manually assembled using a Common Template Framework.

Poetry in Composition | The Rhyme Scheme of Visual Art

I view my visual art through the lens of poetry. The template—a waved diagonal parallelogram constructed on a 16:9 canvas—acts as a rhyme scheme.

  • Framelines: When visible, they represent the strictures of verse.
  • Absence of Lines: Represents free verse or prose.
  • X-Axis Symmetry: Represents metrical cadence and rhythm.

This framework allows me to artifact old creations (sketches from 30 years ago) and recontextualize them into a cohesive, modern collection. It ensures that while each piece is unique, while they all sing in the same choir.

Philosophy | Postmodernism, Pastiche, & Phenomenology

InnerSpace is intellectually grounded in three specific philosophical approaches.

1 | Postmodernism

I embrace the label “Postmodernist” primarily to distance myself from certain expectations driven by ignorance about art, but also for the diversity of devices. InnerSpace utilizes key postmodern tools:

  • Metafiction: Stories about stories.
  • Inter-mediality: Blending text, image, and sound.
  • Irony & Hybridity: Mixing high art with low culture.
2 | Pastiche

Pastiche is the art of featuring art with love. It is not parody (which mocks), but a celebration of style. I use pastiche to blend genres, constructing “impossible” visual paradoxes. It allows me to wear different masks—mimicking technical drawings, surrealism, or noir—while maintaining my own voice.

3 | Phenomenology

I approach art not through psychology, but through Phenomenology—the study of direct experience. My creative process is linked to primal archetypes: fire, flesh, and sustenance. It is an exploration of the “Innermost Space” of the mind.

4 | The Alchemy of Kitsch

I view Clichés and Kitsch as valuable raw materials. Just as I construct poems from fragments of advertisement text, I construct InnerSpace art from the “visual trash” of the internet. By cutting, distorting, and recontextualizing kitsch, I perform alchemy: turning the mundane into something sublime.

The Narrative | The Conceptual World

Everything is a concept waiting to be born.

InnerSpace is supported by a rich diegesis (story world) that connects to my novels, The Old Land and The New Land.

The Mythopoetic Motif
  • The Conceptual Realm: A dimension where ideas exist without mass or energy. They are pure concepts, elements of thinking.
  • The Dream Fabric: The mystical barrier between the Conceptual Realm and the Physical World.
  • The Breach: Sometimes, concepts force their way through the Dream Fabric, bypassing biology to manifest as “anomalies.” My art depicts these breaches.

Every artwork comes with a story. I use Ekphrasis (descriptive writing) to “repaint” the image in the viewer’s mind, adding layers of philosophy, mythology, and narrative that AI simply cannot generate.

Commercial Reality | The NFT Dimension

Where the values of Art meet the values of Trade.

InnerSpace is my commercial entry into the NFT market (OpenSea). However, it rejects the “serial generation” model of 10,000 slightly different apes.

  • Uniqueness: Every piece is a one-of-a-kind creation, manually composed.
  • Value Proposition: You are not buying a generated image; you are buying a human struggle. You are buying the flaws, the philosophy, and the narrative.
  • The Market: I am competing against “Mainstream AI” by going “Underground Human.”

InnerSpace is an invitation to value the ghost in the machine—the human soul—over the perfection of the algorithm.
