This is how my S-dragon is drawn, in six lines, six strokes, six breaths—InnerSpace monospace:
Line 1:\^/
Line 2:©_©
Line 3:/®\
Line 4:\_
Line 5: \
Line 6:\_/
Or
Line 1: backslash, caret, forward slash
Line 2: copyright, underscore, copyright
Line 3: forward slash, registered trademark, backslash
Line 4: backslash, underscore
Line 5: space, space, backslash
Line 6: backslash, underscore, forward slash
This chimera of initial and creature is the most abstract and symbolic of my S-dragons. Every line, angle, and curve is an ASCII character. The result reads as both typographic glyph and mythical beast. The entire symbol is rendered in Courier New to maintain uniform character spacing. No pixel art or vector curves—pure monospace typography. The tight grid forces precision and creativity within strict bounds. Embedded signs (copyright, royalty) nod to rules of creativity and intellectual property. It serves as a self-reinforcing icon of my creative brand and ideological lineage, and functions like a heraldic device, uniting language, myth, and identity.
Each glyph has a symbolic significance:
– The crown (`\^/`) — a halo of defiance and s symbol of higher, nobler aspirations and claims
– The eyes (`©_©`) — guardians of creation, watching with irony and vigilance, and signaling that they turn everything they see into art
– The mouth-heart (`/®\`) — a registered pulse, a trademark of survival, signaling creative production in everything it utters
– The tail (`\_`) — modest, unfinished, yet resolute.
– The falling slash (` \`) — descent into shadow.
– The closing arc (`\_/`) — the dragon’s coil, a circle of return.
The S‑Dragon is both production symbol and honest confession: a reminder that genius begins as an embryo, fragile yet potent. It was my way of bowing to Diogenes, acknowledging that my spark was but a flicker compared to his blaze. Yet over decades, that flicker has grown into something darker, stranger, and beautiful—an enchantment forged in raw material, carried across art, music, and stage. It is much darker than I wanted back in the 1990s, but sublime brilliance can be found in the magic of darkness and death as well.
My S-Dragon ASCII is also a magical artifact, a personal glyph of power, meant to be wielded only by me. A dragon of symbols, a dragon of story, a dragon of shadowed light.
