Self-portrait – Shadow Walk
I walk as a shadow of myself, a silhouette cast upon the cracked earth— a reminder of what I was, and of what I am becoming.
The ground beneath me, uneven and scarred, mirrors the years of illness and hardship I have endured. Yet, each step presses into the soil like a quiet vow: that I am still here, still moving forward.
This image is more than a reflection of light and form. It is a meditation on loss and renewal, on the way shadows stretch behind us while the earth steadies our return.
For several years now I have lived in the long shadow of disease, but now, with each walk, I reclaim the ground beneath my feet. This portrait is not of absence, but of recovery—of walking back into life, step by step.
