In SDL InnerSpace, the concept of life is examined and exploited as a foundational component of the philosophical substrate. Its treatment spans questions of origin, evolution, diversity, adaptation, essence, value, and destiny. This framework encompasses biological, metaphysical, and existential dimensions, acknowledging both the complexity of living systems and the central role of human consciousness in the attribution of meaning.
Within SDL InnerSpace, life is regarded as a universal anomaly. In contrast to inert matter—which is inherently rational and accepts its destiny as a trajectory toward disorder through entropy—life is characterized by a fundamental irrationality. It exhibits an intrinsic impulse to resist, challenge, and transcend the very laws of reason and nature that govern it. Life pursues an inherently paradoxical objective: the attempt to overcome death and ultimately defy total entropy. This might seem logically impossible, but life persists and insists.
