Where My Soul Was Sheltered
In all these boundless lines between land and sky,
this place was built for me—and I will tell you why.
Yes, it’s just a house, a thing of wood and stone,
but the only place I’ve ever called my own.
The only place with trees, all planted by me,
where winds bring me stories, for my poetry.
The roof and the hearth; the bright garden’s grace—
each corner a cradle, my sacred inner space.
Here, I’ve written novels, dreams in pages worn;
Here, I’ve cried and sung, with friends from dusk to morn.
This place is the forge of all I’ll leave behind.
My legacy is etched with its shapes outlined.
So let the world know, while spinning wild and free,
this house of stone was carved for no one but me.
To be that safe haven where my soul could roam—
this isn’t just a house. It’s the Luani Home.
